Ternium
Ternium: stockpile volume measurement by drone
We measured Ternium's material yards in Nuevo León by drone: over 53,000 m³ across 26 sectors and stockpiles, with volume and tonnage per sector in a single report.

The challenge
Knowing how much material is in each sector of a steel mill yard, with irregular piles, pits and covered areas, without sending people or machinery in to measure.
What we did
We flew each yard by drone, processed the elevation model and calculated the volume of each sector against a fixed floor, adding pit depth. Using each material's density we converted volume to tonnes.
The result
A report per flight with cubic meters and tonnes per sector, plus the orthomosaic and 3D model in GeoVolumetrics, ready to reconcile against weighbridge records.
